Tony Macaluso helps develop and manage new radio programs on arts and culture for syndication and guides the WFMT Radio Network’s strategies for working with affiliate stations and arts partners. Since joining the Network in 2012 he has served as co-Executive Producer for radio programs such as The Edinburgh Festival, PoetryNow, Shanghai Spring and Taloa. He has also helped create long-term plans for the WFMT Radio Network’s international expansion, including deepening involvement with the European and Asian Broadcasting Unions and working with radio partners in China, New Zealand, Canada, Italy, Romania and elsewhere. He also oversees the Studs Terkel Radio Archive, which will make all 5,600 of Terkel’s radio program available for the world to explore and re-use. Prior to joining the WFMT Radio Network he helped manage the Grant Park Music Festival, the free, outdoor classical music festival in Chicago’s Millennium Park and worked for Redmoon Theater and the The Neo-Futurists. Tony has a M.A. in theater history and B.A. in journalism and Asian studies.
