Kerry Frumkin has been a warm and friendly presence on air and behind the scenes at 98.7WFMT since 1976. Currently hosting afternoons on Chicago’s pre-eminent fine arts broadcaster, Kerry also is host and producer of Live from WFMT, a weekly live chamber recital series. Over the years, his production and narration skills have garnered every major award in radio including the George Foster Peabody Award, Major Armstrong Awards, Ohio State Awards and the International Radio Festival award. Host and Producer of the New Philharmonic radio broadcasts for over a decade, he has also lent his voice to free-lance work in film and television.
He has enjoyed more than a decade of collaborations with producer Louise Frank, including 12 seasons of 13-weekly radio broadcasts from the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, as well as in-depth profiles of Marilyn Horne, Twyla Tharp, Anne Sophie Mutter, Renée Fleming, Lynn Harrell and many more.
